Are Flowers an Effective Gift?

It’s been a long day. Work is stressing you out and the long commute home has left you an exhausted mess. What better than a gift from your partner to cheer you up? But what is it…? A bunch of flowers…

Flowers have been a romantic offering for centuries. But are these really still an effective gift for singles in our days of gross consumerism?
                                           Yes!

They’re always a surprise…
If you’re going for the surprise factor, flowers fit the bill. They are so visually beautiful and eye catching they will have anyone bowled over in genuine delight and astonishment every single time.

They brighten up the house…
It’s always great to have flowers in the house brightening the place up and spreading their life, joy and gorgeous smell through the rooms. Every time you come in you’ll remember the gift, recall who it’s from and smile at the memory.

They help you say what you can’t…
On some occasions it’s too difficult to express your feelings or condolences for someone. The universal symbol of the flower can sometimes say what you can’t express for you, whether that’s ‘thanks’ or ‘I love you’ or ‘I’m sorry for your loss.’

They’re inherently romantic…
Flowers represent romance, particularly roses. It’s an expected ritual to receive a rose from your partner on Valentine’s Day, and elsewhere, many other courtship rituals involve flowers. Flowers mean romance across the world, to a single Muslim, to a married Christian, to just about anyone. And that is and always will be a very powerful thing, giving the gift its special quality.

                                                  No!

The association of flowers with romance can sometimes mean that people misinterpret their worth, buying flowers instead of apologizing when a face-to-face conversation is necessary. But flowers don’t fix everything, and this will never go down well. Avoid clichéd gifts as a source of reconciliation. Flowers are also sometimes not enough of a gift. No matter how expensive the flowers you buy, they may not meet expectations in some situations. If it’s a big occasion, flowers should only be a part of the gift. If they’re a surprise, the flowers will be more effective offered with another treat, a surprise date for example.

A key reason why flowers sometimes aren’t enough of a present is they only last a few days. They wilt and die in their vase and end up in the bin. Some would argue that a true gift is something to be cherished and will last a lifetime.

Flowers are a brilliant universal expression of love and can be a wonderful thing to receive as a gift. But they can also be misinterpreted if presented in the wrong circumstances, so be careful with your flower buying habits!

DREAMING OF LONG EYELASHES?

I guess it’s every girl’s dream to have long eyelashes. Somehow those really add to one’s beauty, the reason why fake eyelashes are created. Of course wearing those long, fake eyelashes is not so comfortable, I believe. For one you have to take time to let them stick on your original eyelashes. You are not even sure how long they would stick there—so in the end you would always wish you had long eyelashes, and real ones.

I would not be surprised to find eyelash growth products to be a hit. For sure people who wish they had longer eyelashes would be so thrilled about this good news!

DECORATING YOUR HOUSE?

Decorating a house could be quite challenging, especially if you can’t decide on color schemes, furniture to use, or settle on a “theme” for your house. While some people opt for modern designs with state-of-the-art furniture and decorations, some still find vintage decors very attractive.

Of course it all depends on a person’s choice. Some also want to have a “farm” theme—even if they live in the middle of a bustling city. And why not? It’s always great to do something different and go beyond the usual. If you want to settle on one , you could always put a farm stool in your living room for added effects!

Many people when they were kids had a rc or remote control car of one sort or another. Some of the earliest kinds took tons of D batteries that ran out after a few hours of play. Cars did not go very fast and the controller might have just had a single button that spun the car in a circle. Today with advances in technology, rc cars come in a wide variety. Most can be charged so you don’t need to keep buying batteries. There is actually competitive sports racing where people buy top quality models and modify them. The most current speed record is over 134 mph. However, these cars cost over $400 and require customizations.

If you are looking for cheap rc cars, they are easy to find. Particularly around the holidays, you will see ads from stores such as Radio Shack for cars from $6 to $20. Toys R Us has them for around $12 to over $200. Cheap rc cars, particularly under $20 are usually for young children that might not like to play with them and are just trying it out for the first time. Many go fairly slow and are of poor quality. As most things in life, you get what you pay for.

For cheap rc cars that are good quality, could go on or off-road, could go fairly fast and will last a while, check out sites like TowerHobbies. Though the cars are around $200, when considering price, you also have to consider the price of batteries and parts. If you get a cheap car that doesn’t come with batteries and takes up a lot of power, you will have to buy one or two sets that pump up the price. Also, cars that allow you to buy certain parts online are cheaper long term. If a tire wears out or a certain part breaks, you just buy that part again. Cheaper rc cars that don’t have accessory parts means that as soon as something wears out or cracks, you have to buy an entirely new car. Even if a car is $50-$80, if they keep breaking, it is more worthwhile to buy one $200 car than 3, $70 cars.

WFW: 1 Timothy 4:12

1 TIMOTHY 4: 12 - Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young. But be an example for believers in SPEECH, in LIFE, in LOVE, and in PURITY.

This is a very unforgettable verse for me simply because this was the verse I taught to a small group of  campers during our Youth Evangelistic Camp held a two weeks ago. Indeed, we, especially the young people, should not let anybody look down on us just because we are still young. Let us prove to them that WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE (by God's grace) regardless of our age. So let us all guard our speech, our dealings in life, in love to our family, friends and to GOD, and in purity.

Have a blessed Wednesday, everyone! :)

SURVEY SOFTWARE: A must-have in global business

Your business can easily go global nowadays.  Unlike before where you have to have a huge capital to have access to market your products outside your own country, you could just invest in a website these days and voila! You can be unlimited in terms of advertising your products.  The internet has indeed made the world smaller—business hours are not bound by time and location.  As long as one has an internet access, he could be a potential costumer.  Once again, another wonder technology has brought us!
One of the things that make a business successful is to receive feedbacks from costumers all over the world.  How did they find your product?  What can they suggest to better improve it?  Of course it would be great if you’d receive all positive feedbacks from the consumers, but if not, there is always a room for improvement.  There is no better way of knowing what the product users think than using a Survey Software.
You see, the traditional way of doing a survey would be that you would have hired employees to go around and ask people what they think about your product, what better ways to improve it, etc.  On top of that,  you have to have another person to encode all the gathered information, consolidate,  tally , and interpret them.  You would need professional statisticians for that, in fact.  Now if conducting a survey locally would be that expensive and hard to do, how much more if you attempt to do a survey worldwide?  So an Online Survey Software is definitely worth the investment.
The thing about this software is that you won’t have problems with interpreting your questionnaire into different languages. Since your respondents will obviously be from different countries, this amazing software is able to translate the data into 48 languages! The consolidation of these gathered information which is the biggest challenge of all would not be a problem, either. Mind you, you can really save a lot on labor since you won’t have to hire professional statisticians interpret the data—the software does it all!
So if you aim to go global, there are lots of things to consider, and picking the right software should be your number one priority.

MAKING PERSONALIZED HOLIDAY PHOTO CARDS

One of the disadvantages of using a digital camera is that you won’t have the urgency to print photos.  All you have to is to store them in your computer, upload them on the social networking sites such as Facebook and you would get yourself an album with your photos compiled.

Of course nothing still beats getting a hard copy of your photos, especially when you want to holiday photo cards.  Making cards yourself this holiday season would really put joy in the hearts of its recipients.  Mind you, nothing compares to the joy of making someone happy this Christmas season!

Gift Ideas for the Christmas Season

The chilly breeze of the winter season is almost here and that means Christmas is just around the corner! Now most kids are probably excited making a list of presents that they want to receive but the holiday season often spells stress for the adult ones. While Christmas is a fun and memorable event with family and friends, most people are stressing out thinking and trying to find the perfect presents for everyone. While this could take some time, keep in mind that it should not take most of your time that you’ll wind up being trap in the Christmas rush.

It is never too early to think about gifts and at the same time start shopping for them. But in case you are running out of ideas here are some that you can consider:

Toys are a favorite among young kids. You can never go wrong with a nice doll or a stuffed animal for a little girl while trucks and cars for the boys. Educational toys are also ideal especially for toddlers or those who are starting in school. Make sure to check for its safety and materials. Refrain from buying toys with small parts for babies as this might be a choking hazard for them.

Teenage kids would probably go for clothing or accessories. The teenagers are probably the ones that are hard to figure out. So to be on the safe side, do not hesitate to ask. Or in some cases, a gift card will do the work.

Customized or personalized items are ideal for friends and officemates. Coffee mugs, pens and paper weights are highly on demand during this season. So if you’re considering giving out these gifts, it will be better to order ahead of time.

Remember to consider the lifestyle and personality of the person that will receive the gift. Visit a few online stores that offer discounts and free shipping during the holiday season. This will save you a great deal of hassle and money as well.
