I have several friends and even fathers of my friends who decided to leave their families just to work as seamen. Some work in oil tankers, some in luxury ship liners, and some in cargo ships. But aside from their main concerns like their families and the good compensation, they also have to be concerned of their safety. It is indeed a big sacrifice to people who work away from their homes and families especially those who work abroad. But a greener pasture is what they are after so there’s nothing we could do but to give the full support that they need.
